Student's Diversity

CATERING TO THE STUDENTS
Special programs for advanced learners and slow learners:

The institution adopts different means like periodic and continuous assessment, classroom observation and interaction with students as yardsticks to determine the learning levels of students. According to the students’ level and pace of comprehension, the Departments take up different programmes for advanced learners and slow learners.

Advanced learners are encouraged to read the Recommended Readings of each syllabus. The meritorious students are included as members of different committees of the college. They are encouraged to participate in seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops and inter-college, inter-university and state-level competitions. The university rank holders from the college are specially awarded by the college authority. Coaching is provided for Civil Services Examination and other competitive examinations. Students are given Spoken English Training and Personality Development Training to improve their employability.

The Departments organize remedial classes, revision classes and counseling sessions for slow learners. The scores of continuous evaluation of assignments and test answer scripts are regularly shared with the students so that they can identify the areas that need improvement. Special focus is given in identifying their individual learning problems and solving them effectively. Peer teaching method is also adopted where the advanced learners help the slow learners with explanation and notes.

Keen interest is taken by all the Departments in ordering books for the library so that the collection of books caters to the needs of both advanced learners and slow learners. The teachers are accessible to students personally or over phone and are always eager to help the students.
